Delaware State Police have arrested 55-year-old Louis Bland, Jr. of Georgetown, Delaware, for burglary and felony theft.
On September 9, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on 20000 block of Wilson Road in Georgetown for a report of a burglary. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown suspect entered a 67-year-old man’s residence, while he was sleeping earlier in the day, and stole his wallet. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim’s credit card had been used at an area convenience store the same day. Through investigative means, troopers identified Louis Bland, Jr. as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On September 18, 2025, Bland was arrested by Millsboro Police Department for an unrelated incident. State Police charged him with the crimes listed below; he was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $26,000 cash bond.
- Burglary 1st Degree – Occupied Dwelling (Felony)
- Theft Under $1,500 Where the Victim is 62 Years or Older (Felony) – 2 counts
- Unlawful Use of Payment Card Under $1,500 Unauthorized Use of Card Where the Victim is 62 Years or Older (Felony)
