Detectives Investigating Shooting at Bear Residence

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence on Red Lion Road in Bear early this morning.

On April 19, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Red Lion Road in Bear, for a report of a shooting that occurred in the area of the residence. The preliminary investigation revealed several shots were fired by an unknown suspect. An unknown suspect vehicle was reported to have fled southbound on Red Lion Road. Following the shooting, a 34-year-old man was taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle for an apparent gunshot wound.

There were no other injuries reported at this time. There is no further information available for the suspect or suspect vehicle at this time. Surveillance video and images are not available.

The Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed this incident or has information regarding this case to contact Detective H. Carroll by calling 302-365-8467.
