61-year-old NJ man charged with indecent exposure, lewdness in Newark

A 61-year-old New Jersey man was arrested after police say he got naked and performed lewd acts that were witnessed by children through his hotel room window in Newark, Delaware.

According to Newark Police Department, the incident occurred 10:30 p.m., April 15, as officers were called to Embassy Suites Hotel on College Avenue, for an indecent exposure.

Responding officers arrived and made contact with the female victim, along with her two daughters, ages 9 and 11.

The victims reported that as they were walking to their room within the hotel, they witnessed a man standing in the window of his room, wearing only a towel. The blinds to the room were open, according to police. Once he made eye contact with the victims, he dropped the towel, exposing his genitals to the victims.

Police say the suspect then began to perform a lewd act. The exposure and lewd act were also witnessed by a hotel employee.

Newark Police made contact with the male in his hotel room. He was identified as Ronald Kessner, 61, of Tuckerton, New Jersey. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Newark Police headquarters, where he was charged with Indecent Exposure First Degree (2 counts), Indecent Exposure Second Degree, and Lewdness. He was arraigned and released on $6,000 unsecured bail.
